Jeff - While running the backup on your PC, do this: Logon to the iSeries thru a green-screen session, then do a wrkobjlck on your user profile name to find the system job that is running on your behalf to map the network drive. Change this job to LOG(4 00 *SECLVL) LOGCLPGM(*YES) so that it will produce a joblog, and when your backup fails, look at the joblog for error messages...
