DSPLIB has to be done to *PRINT to get the object count at the end. That is for all objects. If you need to get a count based on object type, DSPOBJD LIBNAME/*ALL *ALL OUTPUT(*OUTFILE) is the ticket, then some kind of SQL over the output file. Easy enough.
