Jeff, Yes, the 3582-L23 can store the cleaning cartridges. We have one in the system, and to my knowledge it has yet to be used. The manual did say it was not something to be done on a regular basis, but only when the drive indicates that it needs to be cleaned. So far no cleaning required messages, no orange lights, no media errors. We have had this drive since it was first available.
