I really have no idea how these new commands work (stuck at V5R1 for now), but why are you using QDLS? That's possibly the worst file system in the IFS, and you may be having issues related to that environment.... I'd try to use a real IFS file system. I generally use the /home/username/tmp/filename... path for temporary data.
