Don, Actually the opposite is true. Technical conferences like COMMON and COMDEX are terrible draws for the casinos. Tech people are, as a rule, not gamblers. When COMDEX rolled around in November (it's now defunct) the normal room rates that were $59 per night jumped to $250 per night to try to make up for the lost casino revenue.
