Actually Joe I believe that a DDS LF also supports a key where you can
specify QSYSTRNTBL or some such thing to make sure that the key is upper
case. But I get your point.

What's your point, Frank? That SQL does some things well? I've always
said that SQL does some things well. Just not ALL things. Hell, I just
said in this very thread that SQL was a great tool for this kind of
application. Evidently you missed that post, because you're still
taking my name in vain.

That's what I find so bizarre. Because I say SQL doesn't do everything
well, I am anti-SQL. Because I say Java doesn't do some things well, I
am anti-Java.

BULL.

I use both Java and SQL (and RPG and CL and REXX and whatever else)
whenever they are appropriate. I never disrespect them, I only point
out places where they are inappropriate. The people who try to shoehorn
these tools in where they don't belong are the ones who give the tools a
bad name, not me.

And so, this is the last time *I* respond to silly posts like this. If
anyone gets upset because I say their pet technology du jour is not the
ultimate silver bullet of programming, I think it's an opportunity for
some therapeutic intervention. Or at least cut down on the caffeine.

Oh yeah... :) :) :) :) :) :)
