LOL! > My teacher is a nice guy (British) and all but I cant ever understand > what he is talking about. I'm almost certain it has to be better than the guys that start teaching two weeks after they get off the boat from Iran (my experience 20 years ago). It doesn't really matter where they come from; it's just that English is by far a second (distant) language to them. It must be really something to be in a strange land and have an entire class looking at each other and look at the instructor with no idea of what he just said. You'd think that after you paid good money on tuition, that the university could find someone capable of teaching the courses and speaking proper English. I guess some profs can't be bothered with teaching undergrads. Anyway, the British accent is one of the more pleasant accents, IMO. Is LSU "Louisiana ..."? If so, then no wonder! The British accent is probably about as bad to you as is the midwestern accent! > * = "splat" in his class I've *always* hated "splat". It makes me want to reach for a fly swatter or something. Call it "star" or "asterisk" or get out of programming! <g> db
