× The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

Limited TCP/IP support is available when in restricted state.  Go the the
V5R3 Information Center and search on 'restricted tcp/ip'.  You will find
an entry that tells you how to configure TCP/IP for restricted state.  You
do need to be on a V5R2 or later release.

When the system is in restricted state,
can the console job use a comm port ?

>From what I can tell TCP/IP is not available,
but I still hoping to setup either a pager pgm
or some other async data comm for doing
message alerts while doing an unattended
SAVSYS.
