1) Start with a DSPLOG around the time of the power off/on.
2) WRKPRB and see if any are significant.
3) RTFH. Or in other words do the following:

Power off and on tasks

We use the power off and on tasks to shut down and restart the AS/400 each
weekend primarily to recover if there is a media error on the weekly
backup.
It is undesirable to have everyone come to work Monday morning and find
that
the machine has a message to be answered.

Three weeks ago the FE replaced the batteries in our disk controllers and
since then the machine has not powered off/on.

Does anyone have an idea of what I should check for? The power off/on
schedule shows the correct dates/time.

Thanks,
Greg
