As big as a fan of RPG versus CL as I am, if what you have is working, why
are you changing it?

I do have some concerns that should be addressed. There may be growth in
other areas other than the traditional DB2 area that DSPOBJD only covers.
Look at our 840 (from RTVDSKINF and PRTDSKINF *SYS):
                                                % of Size in
Description Disk 1,000,000 bytes
User libraries 44.02 1432686.36
User directories 27.81 905123.63
Folders and documents .03 1094.78
QSYS .18 5872.73
Other IBM libraries .71 23262.94
Licensed Internal Code .20 6669.43
Temporary space 1.06 34468.66
Unused space 25.37 825617.63
System internal objects .21 6945.79
Objects not in a library .00 .22
TOTAL 99.59 3241742.17

Now, of the traditional 'User libraries', 1,170,160MB or 1.2TB is in the
library PCBACKUP. This too will be moved to 'User directories' when we
get to the latest version of Tivoli Storage Manager. So, our adjusted
figures would be:
                                                % of Size in
Description Disk 1,000,000 bytes
User libraries 8.10 262526.36
User directories 64.02 2075283.63
Folders and documents .03 1094.78
QSYS .18 5872.73
Other IBM libraries .71 23262.94
Licensed Internal Code .20 6669.43
Temporary space 1.06 34468.66
Unused space 25.37 825617.63
System internal objects .21 6945.79
Objects not in a library .00 .22
TOTAL 99.59 3241742.17

So only paying attention to DSPOBJD stuff would be an insignificant
portion of our disk. Don't you think?

If you carefully read the help for RTVDSKINF you can see how it recommends
doing the historical comparisons that you are currently doing with
DSPOBJD. And every bit of the detail that you are using with DSPOBJD to
do your queries is in the file created by RTVDSKINF, plus a little
additional information.

RTVDSKINF doesn't go quite into the detail of 'User directories' that it
can with 'User libraries'. For that you can use the V5R3 RTVDIRINF /
PRTDIRINF combo.

If you still want to tackle this with RPG, and still want to cover only
DSPOBJD stuff, then I suggest you look at the following:
