Sorry, no direct fix for your problem.  But a few questions...

Can you replicate the error, consistently?

If you can replicate it, it may be just that you'll have to live with
compiling at a more recent release, knowing that it works.

If you're not able to replicate the error, you won't necessarily know
whether a recompile at a more recent release will actually solve the
problem.  Time to call IBM?
