Scott,
I'm not certified. Do I need to be?
IMHO, I think so, and it It cannot hurt.
When we look for folks there are plenty out there right now. Being certified is a differentiator. Previous experience is clearly a plus but sometimes we find that someone has not 20 years of experience but 1 year of experience 20 times. Having certifications helps point out that you have learned something along the way.I haven't gone out and looked for a job in a long time (though, I'm not out looking now, either) do people today require certification for iSeries Professionals? Or is previous experience good enough?
Do certified professional make more money?
I have not found this to be the case, at least not around here.
