Mike, If the user's are trying to access the file through "network
neighborhood", then you must ensure that there's a share defined for them to
see this directory. Check out Operations Navigator (iSeries Navigator for
newer OS) for defined shares. If you need to create one, simply find the
directory in the IFS heirarchy (expand root, then drill in until you find
your directory), right click and select the share option.

Subject: Still need help w. Excel

HI I have read the archives. About sending an AS/400 file to a Excel file.
The method I want to use is to have a CL that will create the file then make
a directory on the IFS and then put the file there. The command for this is
Then to map the user to this drive. I was told to map using the IP address
of the AS/400/the folder name. This is not working yet. Assuming this will I
then have to create a Macro in Excel that will take the file and format it
for Excel, possibly doing some summaries.

Is this a good plan? Are there better ways to do this?

I have tried doing the ISeries transfer but this is not working for some
reason, we are not sure if it is the Excel or Windows setup.

Thanks,

Mike
