Rob et. al. We are using a separate LPAR for Testing. I wanted to refresh just a couple of the test data files with production data. Using FTP (after I figured out how) it only took 0.25 seconds to refresh a file. Thanks, everyone for your help and suggestions. This list is great! ========================================================== 1) If it's programs etc, have your change management system do it. 2) If it's data you can use SAVRST* but I discourage that because it's SNA based. 3) FTP works pretty good. You can write wrappers to do what SAVRST* did. 4) For IFS stuff this works: md '/QFileSvr.400/OtherLpar' CPY OBJ('/mydir/myfile.txt') TODIR('/QFileSvr.400/OtherLpar/mynewdir') 5) Keep in mind that a Virtual Lan configuration will blow the doors off of going out on your real lan and then back in. 6) DDM? 7) Tape Rob Berendt
