I agree. The problem is that when both sides were set to 100/full the connection stopped working. Once I changed the iSeries to auto, the iSeries shows 100/HALF while the switchport is set to 100/FULL and its working. My preference is to lock down the settings at the switch port for servers and key equipment. You an use the negotiation process to get the best settings, then lock them in. One less thing to break!
