Whip up a simple test and find out? Rob Berendt -- Group Dekko Services, LLC Dept 01.073 PO Box 2000 Dock 108 6928N 400E Kendallville, IN 46755 http://www.dekko.com EDoxtator <doc6502@xxxxxxxxx> Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 08/18/2004 12:03 PM Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx cc Fax to Subject CPYF Behaivor All I'm looking at the documentation for the CPYF command, and the FMTOPT(*MAP) documentation doesn't quite answer all my questions: If the from and to files have a field called DESC, but the size of the field in the from file is 30 characters, and the size of the field in the to file is 50 characters, how is the field justified when it's copied? Left or Right? Also, if I have a numeric field that is 9,5 in the from file and 5,3 in the to file, how are the decimals adjusted? Are they truncated (.12567 becomes .125) or are they rounded (.12567 becomes .126)?
