Hi Werner,

the ~1 is a continous suffix. It's is generated from any MS-OS for the 8.3
name. Therefore the number depends on the order in the directory.

Be careful if you transfer scripts between PCs.

Subject: Pathnames in STRPCCMD command

Hi All,

I found somewhere examples of valid pathnames for calling PC programs by
STRPCCMD.
Example for calling EXCEL:
'C:\Progra~1\micros~1\office\excel.exe'.
Such pathnames may differ from one the the other PC environment.
My question: Where can I find explanations on the syntax of this shortened
pathnames? E.g. what does ~1 stand for?

Many thanks in advance.
