Having a thoughtful moment here, amongst the pissing match going on over at RPG400-L. Just got my NEWS Wire Daily email newsletter from iSeries Network. FAST400 co-sponsors the newsletter (with IBM; somewhat ironic there). And has done so for awhile, IIRC. IANAL, but isn't it generally accepted that FAST400 violates the iSeries OS licensing agreements that all customers agree to? If not, then flush this post now. But if yes... I am sure that the iSeries Network's editorial staff took a good look at the issues surrounding this, and apparently they have no qualms with advertising the product. Regardless of your feelings about how IBM is acting <insert your favorite verb here> on the interactive feature, we must abide by the license. What if I were to set up an operation off shore like FAST400 so I'd be "untouchable", and offer to sell a product that bypasses the license keys on the system? Know someone who has development product LPPs? With my product, just ask to borrow their CD-ROM, and load it on your system for no extra charge! Should iSeriesNetwork accept my advertising as well?
