I don't have enough space on the screen, so I'll use a 2nd window.  Now I
have to have that 2nd window open up automatically when the user runs the
menu option, and go away when he's done.  Then, what if he puts the wrong
window on the wrong side of the other window?  I'll have to write a
program that moves the windows into the correct sequence.

Is this the Rube Goldberg school of programming?

Booth, why don't you just use VARPG and make a bigger window?  Or a web
interface?  Or a 132 column display window?
