JDBC works very nicely in this arena and is, of course, free if you know Java. I think there are iSeries based applications that do this (IBM may even have something) but I don't recall where I have seen them (DataJoiner?). If there are ODBC "drivers", IBM or a third party would have had to written them and I am not sure how much demand there would be. I don't know of any ODBC drivers for the iSeries as a client though.
