I'm with Patrice.
I've been using SnagIt since late '98 and I don't know what I'd do
without it these days. The advice to insert the picture from file was
right on the money. I've done some great document space-saving things
by capturing, say, only a specific region of the screen when necessary
to show an error message rather than print-screening the whole display
session just to show the text on the bottom.
What's even better is I've been able to "genericize" my documents by
altering the screen shots. I create them as *.bmp files and then go
into to MS Paintbrush, zoom in, and use the black eraser mode to clear
out any data I don't want to show up, like system names or client info,
etc. I have no problems sharing pertinent documentation with clients
having done that.
