Domino is absolutely worth it.

Domino problems:
Different look and feel as M$ applications.
You need to learn how to administer Domino.  School is necessary.

Domino benefits:
We are a Domino shop, and after our growing pains (the first month) zero
unplanned downtime.
Using BRMS, you can easily do Domino save-while-active
No one writes viruses aimed at Domino.
A good Domino programmer can write entire systems in Domino faster than you
can natively.

Outlook benefits:
The interface is more Micro$oftish

Outlook problems:
How many viruses have you heard of that read your Outlook address book, and
propagate that way?  Give the gift that keeps on giving, a virus.

I have a customer considering the iSeries Domino 6
serving email, with users using Outlook or Outlook Express.
This is a shop with no onsite technical resources, they
call us. BP recommended Domino.
Any comments about how well this runs. They might
consider the Notes client. Wanting to get away from
isp based email services. V5r2 or v5r3.
Any comments welcome.
