Further to this discussion, is there anywhere I can get a definative list of which IOP's etc will support PPP comms ? I have a small list but it is incomplete to say the least. I believe I have discovered the cause of the apparent 'bug' in iSeries Nav, and configuring the TCP-PPP connection. I expect IBM-devotees, or any IBM developers will smile, smuggly ... When you click on the drop-down list to select the available resources, and you only get one resource ... It could be that the IOPs (or IOAs) do not support IP :-( certainly 2623+2609 do not. I was trying to configure a PPP connection on a model 720, it had loads of SPD based IOPs, and many V.24 adaptors. It is my guess that the iSeries Nav wizard knows this and (correctly) excludes them. It would be nice if IBM could make a minor addition to the help text to explain why the list might not contain all the resources one might be (incorrectly) expecting. I understand that the 2-line WAN-IOA #2699 may support IP - I have yet to determine which IOP is plugs into. Kind regards, Jeffrey E. The other V.24 comms adapters are identical as it happens. I am using SLIP to maintain consistency with some older AS/400s (v3r2) that do not support the later PPP standard; it's not brilliant but it does what I need - when I can configure the d??n thing. The symptoms on other iSeries were identical, updating the Cum pack and client service packs did resolve it in the past. I can see that the response to this cry for help is overwhelming so I will struggle on ... Kind regards, Jeffrey E. You have one hardware resource showing up. Does it happen to be a different feature code than the ones that are not showing up? I wonder if the cards in question do not support SLIP. -Marty -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. ________________________________________________________________________ This e-mail has been scanned for all viruses by ITM.
