For the individual pc file save/restore we use Tivoli Storage Manager.

But for the complete let's save the whole PC as an image we use the SAV
command. But we only do that every 8 weeks for those directories.

RE: Backup cl-program question

I'm not sure I have the definitive answer but ...

The OS/400 save commands can only backup the AS400 / iSeries / i5 's own
disks; this includes all folders in the IFS (which includes QSYS.LIB of
course). This will also include Network Server Storage Spaces, typically
used by INS / IXS processors.

If, as you say, the 810 and IXS are sharing the iSeries disks, then the
backup will include the IXS data, however ...

It is my belief that the backups of the IXS-data made using the OS/400
save
commands can only be used for a full restore of the IXS-data; what you may
need to think about is purchasing a Win / Linus based backup utility that
will permit the restoring of individual folders or files. You should be
able to use/share the iSeries tape drives for this.

Kind regards,
