The layouts of the data are different, hence, it can't be done directly.

But you can CPYFRMTAP, as you say, to a PF, wrap that in a SAVF or do SNDNETF directly or SAVRSTOBJ (if you have ObjectConnect installed), then CPYTOTAP on the other side.

Maybe!

There could be tape incompatibility issues, however.
