Oh, I understand Jeff, but my experience has been pretty positive doing things over the net. I interact with Compaq/HP, Cisco, Sophos, etc. via email tech support and the nice thing is you have a "paper trail". You can give them detailed information that they have in front of them. They can give you detailed replies, etc. and no one has to write a bunch of stuff down, ask them to repeat it, etc. I am NOT saying this is a total replacement for the phone because I still use that with all of them too, it is just another tool to use as you see fit ;-) Chuck -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jeff Crosby Sent: Monday, June 14, 2004 10:54 PM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: RE: Don't you just love outsourcing . . . Understood. I'll probably do that from now on. But it really gripes me when these instances occur, the advice is (and I'm not picking on you) "just do it on the net". Why can't companies get these things right? -- Jeff Crosby
