Yes ... I didn't include some of the information. The target system is indeed iSeries running V5R1.

Is it possible that there's an FTP proxy in between you and the resulting
system?  It's possible that the proxy doesn't understand RCMD, where the
iSeries itself would.


I don't think there is a proxy in the mix ... but it's worth investigating.
