Can't you use STRRCYBRM OPTION(*CTLGRP) for the restore in this situation?

We currently use a control group that is a save via parallel tape. The
limitation of the RSTOBJBRM f4 parm is 50 objects. We have to restore
approximately 150. We want the ability to create a media definition so we
input the tape vols etc, Use the MD in a CL using the native RSTOBJ parm
and key in the 150 + or so objects to restore. The restored objects name do
not change.

- Why don't you just use a control group to perform the save and the
recovery?

Need to perform parallel restore of 150 objects. Since BRMS rstobjbrm only
allows max 50 objects, we have to use native rstobj which allows up to 300.
The only way to do this in parallel is to specify parm DEVICE(*MEDDFN) and
create a media definition with API QSRCRTMD. This API is quite complicated
and IBM charges extra on consult line for any help with it. Has anyone
written a program for this API? Any other suggestions?
