Doesn't Toronto boast an excellent subway system? I've been to Toronto

to those I remember in San Fran?

The streetcars in Toronto are nothing like San Francisco's cable cars.

The following page has some pretty good information and photos on Toronto's streetcar system:

I believe during the last COMMON in Toronto, some railfans chartered an old streetcar for a tour of the city. I believe there are still one or two PCC's available for charters.

You raise a good point! If anyone planning on attending the Toronto COMMON wants to try a few games of 5-pin bowling, send me a private e-mail (boldt(at)ca(dot)ibm(dot)com). If there's any interest, I can look into reserving a lane or two at a bowling alley close to the subway. There's one particular bowling alley just east of Greektown along the Danforth subway I've wanted to try. It's a small alley, and apparently, it hasn't changed much in the past 50 years! (Except, I'm sure, for the beer prices!)

Cheers! Hans
