Yow, if true, I have seriously misunderstood the whole purpose of default 
routers pointing to routers and the whole Internet thing including DNS and 
other elements. I've seen dynamic routes appearing all the time on every AS/400 
I've ever run TCP/IP on.

I assume that some clarification will clear up what you're saying here.
