If you read the Memo to Users (printed page 13, pdf page 25 of 86), you'll see some mention of the /tmp directory. Read that carefully. Yes, you can turn that attribute off. However the next IPL will turn it back on again. If you use SNDEMAIL to send mail you'll have to modify it so that it stops writing the header files into /tmp. Evidently they lock QMSF out of deleting the header file and thus QMSF dies a gristly death. Possible solutions: 1) Automatically change this attribute after every IPL. Restart QMSF, and maybe SMTP. 2) Modify the following line from SNDEMAILC to use another directory: DCL VAR(&DIRECTORY) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(40) + VALUE('/TMP') 3) Load/apply ptf SI13011 to stop changing this attribute after every IPL.
