If you are fairly current on iSeries Access for Windows
& Java, you can create a message monitor within iSeries
Navigator and have an action ("OS/400 trigger command") such
as this:
STRREXPRC SRCMBR(CPF1393PWD) SRCFILE(yourlib/QREXSRC)
The REXX procedure can format up and send an email to your
Security Officer, and you can run the monitor minimized and
it will pop open to give you an early warning. It doesn't
have to be REXX, could be a CL or anything that can send an
email or even a message and you don't even have to deal with
the API... :)
I qualified "fairly current" because it started off kinda
twitchy but has steadily gotten more and more dependable
with each service pack.
