Dave, We support 4 websites with .asp via Sockets. When we first wrote the websites, we used ODBC and did all the processing on the webserver. On a Model 510, there were times when ODBC would bring 5+ second response time to interactive users. After switching to sockets, which run in batch we have no impact on our interactive response time. We started with the Sorcerer's Guide http://publib-b.boulder.ibm.com/Redbooks.nsf/RedbookAbstracts/sg245402.html? Open and then added in Scott Klement's Socket Tutorial http://www.scottklement.com/rpg/socktut/index.html . Good Luck ! Cyndi B. Boise, ID "The Idaho Housing and Finance Association provides funding for affordable housing in Idaho communities. IHFA is not a state agency under state law, and uses no state funds or state employees to support its operations."
