RE: Can SQL "simulate" a multiple format logical file with a join?

Can you give us a little more information about the record selection?
Which fields are you restricting on? I know you mention that you can
setll and read, but I can't imagine you setll *loval and read the whole
file, especially if it's loading a subfile.

You may be able to fake the result you're looking for with a union.
