This is fun. I looked in QSYS2 at the SYS* files. SYSINDEXES only lists files created with CREATE INDEX. SYSVIEWS only lists files created with CREATE VIEW. However SYSTABLES lists all physical and logical files. These SYS* files in QSYS2 are designed to be the standard lookup files for tools like SeeBeyond and others. The theory is that these files should exist on all systems, including Oracle, and others. SeeBeyond doesn't have a clue about how this should be configured - apparently they don't have any customers that are using their JDBC driver to connect to the iSeries database. We finally got connected to the iSeries machine, but this JDBC driver cannot see DDS-created files - only tables created by the CREATE TABLE command or views (CREATE VIEW). Is this the norm for JDBC drivers, or is it just a SeeBeyond limitation?
