I don't know if this addresses your issue or not but here is what we use for sending out MS Word documents as an overlay with the overlay on one side and the customer's address on the other.

We use a externally described printer file with the following DDS:

A* A INDARA A R DTL38D COMPNAME 35A 5 7 COMPADDR 35A 6 7 COMPCITY 35A 7 7 01 10 55'Address Service Requested'
LINE1 35A 11 55 LINE2 35A 12 55 LINE3 35A 13 55 LINE4 35A 14 55

And an OVRPRTF command:

OVRPRTF FILE(SOMPRT38D1) BACKOVL(AFPDS/OVRLAY)

I hope it helps.

Thanx, PLA

I have a requirement to do some duplex printing. The monkey wrench is that
there is an overlay on the form. I need the overlay on the front of the
form but not on the back. I've tried to create a BACKOVL, but when I do
that, the output for the back prints on the front of the form. When I don't
specify a back overlay, the overlay from the front prints on the form. I've
tried virtually every combination of DUPLEX, OVERLAY, and ENDPAGE keywords
both in the DDS and on the CRTPRTF statement. I'm stuck here. Does anyone
have any suggestions?

Thanks,
