A lot of people don't even want these donations.  We tried to give old 
S/36's and S/34's to my alma matter, (where I learned RPG on a S/34). They 
didn't want them but they would take them if we insisted.

Last week my wife got a free PC for our kids from the local school.  Seems 
that some business donated some old IBM PC's to them.  They had no use - 
they use all Mac's.

Yes, it is. Some non-profit could probably use it.
I do charity work for St Jude Children's Research hospital. I'm not sure
what computer equipment they are using, but I know that local charities
could probably use older systems, even if it is just to replace one that
someone gave them 10 years ago.
