Murali, I apologize if I sounded like a wiseguy.  The consequences of
changing the system date go far beyond messing up a few reports.  

It would surprise me if any member of this list would feel that changing the
system date regularly was ok.  In fact the idea is so basic that I honestly
felt you were doing an April Fools joke.
