You have just now touch the magic button of reality. The 'whizz kids of R & T' like C ++ and the portability of SQL so we are going to live with it. OPNQRY really gave most of the capabilities of an SQL approach but didn't the "enterprise view" so therefore we push forward into the future. Bah! The future includes outsourcing, interpretive languages and all sorts of other things that we discovered and then threw away and which were rediscovered and brought back to life by a new set of PhD's. So goes life so keep your old junk and firmly insist that IBM must always support previous capabilities while we get more speed in a smaller space. Jack D.
