I'm guessing that you already know that Management Central can send you a
page or an email for just about any event.  Sametime just adds two-way
messaging capabilities.  MC also ties in to iSeries Access for Wireless to
let you see your monitors, hold or end jobs and run commands from a
web-enabled cell phone.

One of these days I am going to figure out how to use the Management 
Central tie in to Sametime to alert us that way when certain events are 
called.  It is rather surprising when IBM calls me to say they are on the 
way with a disk drive when I didn't know we had one on the fritz.
