I've said this before, and I'm not looking to start a bandwidth wasting thread here, but if you show up at a conference with an attitude that you are going to find something that will give your boss a good ROI, COMMON is essentially free education. Show up with a business problem to be solved, talk to your peers and the IBM'ers, find the solution to the problem, go home and make your boss happy. It's pretty simple. I've been doing it since 1980. It's 2004. Stop griping about current-day pricing.
