Throw this into the mix for folks running twinax consoles on iSeries.  I
think it was in the Insider Weekly just this last week about OS/400 V5R3
supporting a Hardware Management Console (HMC) that is Linux based. If I
read it correctly, it attaches to the iSeries via Ethernet.  

It should be interesting!  It also begs the question of what will happen to
Oops Console's future.....  :-)

Whereas it may work fine, I would rather have my clients move to a
ethernet solution.

It gives me MUCH less cable to have to deal with (unless it's already
there) and it give one cable to a system (vs 1 for twinax and one for
ether)  Virtual devices saves me the headache of dealing with limited
devices per port issues, and problems with someone experimenting with
thier own settings, etc....

And, alot of those old cards just won't fit in the newer PC's....:)
