New update: You know how I always tell folks to check out SEQUEL from ASC for doing stuff? Here's another example of how the scripting portion of the product helped me out at this client without PDM on their machine. For the CPYSPLF portion of my routine, I needed a way to get the user to be able to enter the appropriate parameters needed for this step. I was getting ready to sign on to another machine, create a display file which would be used by my CL program to populate the variables I needed. I would then have to FTP that display file from my development machine back to the client machine. Then I would have to test it, go back to the development machine, fix it, and re-transmit all over again if I had any bugs. I was about to do that, and then I remembered that this client owns SEQUEL, and that it has a built-in tool that permits one to convert CL source into a SEQUEL script (which permits run-time variables). I created the script, defined my variables, saved it and was able to submit it to batch. Five minutes, start to finish. Thank you ASC!!!!
