Good News Everybody!

DBOP is the general name for the new query engine optimizer in V5R2. There is a QAQQINI setting that can activate this. Eric mentions the job trace option in the ODBC setup, but I thought this just turns on TRCJOB. Maybe not. This is usually initiated by IBM, since the output is cryptic at best.

Here's a link that explains how it is set up:

<http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas12cf0de366502c00c86256d6000508fea&rs=110>

Used the improved support search to see it. Or look up DBOP in either the regular or registered software knowledge base.

Hi,

we have a user that is doing some queries through ODBC.

All of a sudden, I find spoolfiles called DBOPTRACE from him. I have been
investigating ODBC problems every now and then,
but never saw one of these spoolfiles.

So, how do you obtain them? Any documentation for this?

Oliver
