This was posted to the RPG list but, while I am awaiting to be "approved"
there could anyone help me with this?:

In SQLRPG is there an easy way to test for a positive result of a Select
without doing a fetch?

IOW if you did an OPEN on a cursor, can you check SQLCODE or SQLSTATE for a
value that would tell you that you had no records?

All the examples I see show checking SQLCOD for a value AFTER the fetch.
I'd rather not fetch, but just test to see if I had records after I opened
the cursor.
