I'm sure that you'll get some advice from this inquiry...but you don't have
everything you need.  What you really need is a friend who knows what
they're looking at.

You will need a console.  I'd use a twinax terminal and to do that, you'll
need a twinax "brick" with cable to connect to the 170, and you'll need a
piece of twinax cable (that works) to connect the terminal to the brick.

This is likely to be quite an endeavor if you know nothing about the AS400
and unless you want it to play with (which will be really hard, considering
it's probably on V4R3 or V4R4 and you don't appear to be an AS400
programmer), it won't be of much (any??) value to you.

If you decide to give up, I'd like to discuss the "tower 2", which I suspect
is a 710x expansion that I can use.
