Al: Thanks for the message. You may not recall, but we met a couple times - either at the Northeast User Group, or maybe Nashville, maybe Stratford-upon-Avon (UK iSeries group)... Here's my experience so far... Automatic IPL for over a day. Stuck at C900 2C40 but still chugging. Manual IPL for almost 2 days. Stuck at C900 29A0 but still chugging. Manual IPL again. Stuck at C900 28C5 for over an hour. Manual IPL again. This time on the A side. Still praying. Question - if an OS object is damaged and I boot off the tape, will I be able to run some backups?
