The easiest way is to make an APPC connection:

on SYSTEMA:

CRTCTLAPPC CTLD(SYSTEMB)
           LINKTYPE(*LAN)
           SWTLINLST(EHTLINE)
           RMTCPNAME(SYSTEMB)
           ADPTADR(111111111111)
           SWTDSC(*NO)
where........
SYSTEMB=Default local location from the DSPNETA command on SYSTEMB
111111111111 = the MAC (local adapter address) from SYSTEMB's ethernet line

Repeat the same for the other system(change the names to protect the
innocent)

when finished vary both on(amke sure the show varied on) and run the APING
command pointing at the remote system.
Only need to do from one system. This will create the APPC devices for
you.

You can test by using the STRPASTHR command.

I have run into one issue doing it this way, depending on your system
security setup.
when using the SAVRSTxxx commands you may recieve an error. Lokk at the
operator
messages on the TARGET system for evoke request errors. In the second
level text you will see the cause
I have seen 705 errors where you have to grant authority ot the device for
the user running the command.

Make sure you have the latest PTF for object connect....go here:

pick your version and search for "OSP-OBC"

Good luck it's a neet tool.

========================
I have two AS/400's on my network. Both with Ethernet. One is
192.168.0.150, the second is at 192.168.0.151. I want to use SAVRSTLIB
across the two. I'm having trouble finding the instructions for setting
things up. SAVRSTLIB is asking for a remote location name. This is where
I'm getting fuzzy.

Can anyone point me in the direction of how to set up my 2 boxes so that
this function will work? Telnet, FTP, even DDM work fine between the two
machines.

Thanks.
