What happens when you try to sort them?  That's where my problem is (I
hadn't tried using the date functions, but sure enough they do work on the
fields I'm downloading, too). The sort function just treats them like
character fields (e.g. 01/12/2005 sorts before 07/14/2002). It seems
strange that the date functions work, but the sort doesn't  . . . .
