We use the modem connection to customer boxes when they don't have an IP
address we can get to their iSeries with.  Dial up is our work-around.

Ideally, I guess PPP is the way to go since we could use Telnet once the
link is established (I am not aware of any customers of ours NOT running
TCP/IP).
